The International Communist Current site ‘captcha’ image didn’t appear, so I couldn’t ask this question in a comment on the article itself, but, in an attack on the GCI, I learned that the ICC think that September 11 was “in all probability” “‘allowed to happen’ by the American state to justify its war plans”.

As I’ve mentioned before, one doesn’t have to look far to find people whose desires to ascribe direct responsibility to the United States government allow them to make dubious assertions - much stronger versions than this ICC claim, certainly. But for some reason I didn’t expect this from the ICC. And I don’t think that the statement is true, or that the ICC can really have a reasonable basis for claiming that “in all probability” 9-11 was deliberately allowed to happen by the US government.

Yes, this is indeed the ICC’s position i.e. that

the American government knew that an attack was coming and consciously permitted it to happen for political and ideological purposes, much the same way that the Roosevelt administration permitted the Japanese attack that it knew was coming at Pearl Harbor in 1941, to give it the pretext to mobilize a reluctant population for entry into World War II.

Their evidence seems ahem a little weak…
